My School Story
EPISODE 1
Friendship is not all about the number of years spent together rather it’s about the number of life spent together, this I got to learn in a hard way. From the first day I left my parents, friends and came to school I knew it’s going to be hard to find a friend or friends just as great as the ones I left at home.
By and by, things started as usual in school from the registration period to the matriculation day life showed me hell. I was in colerm phase 1 building FUNAAB when I was called by a departmental mate that we have to go to phase 2 building to sign a particular document, the thought of how to get there flooded my mind like sweat gushing out of the skin. In no time I made up my mind to go but as nature would have its way, I met a departmental mate who I informed about this information and we decided to go together which is exactly what I wanted because I was not used to walking alone; back then at home my friends do follow me almost everywhere even if I want to use the toilet.
The journey to phase 2 was a bit hectic but since we were two, the stress didn’t show much on me I was happy that I have someone to rely on and this made me feel glad. On getting there, things didn’t turn out as rosy as expected. First, we met so many people on the queue waiting to sign their documents too. Secondly, there was no chair or stool to sit on, after standing for about 3 hours it was my turn and another departmental mate who I didn’t know before. You might be wondering what do we want to sign sef? It’s the ‘War against Cultism’ form. We entered the office, greeted the supposed person to sign the form and he asked us to raise our hands and repeat what’s written in the document. We did as requested and on the mention of our department, he shouted STOP! I was scared and thought our department was a taboo word that he must not hear of but to our surprise, he said he wasn’t the one to sign for my department FWM (Forestry and wildlife management).
I was so furious but what can I do than to leave, on getting outside I couldn’t find the guy we came together it was people outside who told me that on hearing about what was going on inside he just ran off without looking back to even see the person he came with; ‘you don’t have yourself, you say you have someone’. On my way home that day I wasn’t myself, so sad and pitiable as different things began to flow through my mind but what can I do than to let go after all he is not my father’s son…to be continued..
Was I being inconsiderate or judgmental?
